STAY

At Major’s House, every corner has its own character.

Colors, textures, and carefully chosen objects create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and aesthetic — somewhere between a private home and a boutique hotel.

The house stands on the historic Milion Street in Stepanavan, surrounded by small local homes where everyday life quietly unfolds. Here, the rhythm of the town becomes part of the experience.

Major’s House has eight individually designed rooms, a small bar–reception on the first floor, and a cozy restaurant on the ground floor, where guests can enjoy simple yet refined meals inspired by family recipes and local ingredients.

All rooms are designed for two guests, creating a calm and intimate atmosphere for couples and friends seeking a peaceful escape. Because of the house’s intimate scale, we do not provide extra beds.

Major’s House is a place for those who appreciate beautiful interiors, thoughtful details, and a relaxed, slightly seductive mood — whether you come to unwind with friends, spend quiet time as a couple, or work remotely in an inspiring setting.

And although we love animals very much, we kindly ask our guests to leave pets at home, to preserve the calm atmosphere of the house.

Major’s house
stepanavan

Stepanavan is known for its mountain air, forests, and quiet natural beauty. In Soviet times it was one of Armenia’s most loved health resorts, where people came to rest and breathe fresh air.

Yet Stepanavan is more than nature.

For generations Armenians, Russians, and Georgians lived here together, shaping the town’s culture and character. Later, in 1946, Armenian repatriates from abroad added new stories and traditions to the city.

GYUMRI

Gyumri is a city where time slows down.

Every stone, window, and courtyard carries a story shaped by memory, humor, and resilience.

Known for its craftsmen, artists, and distinctive architecture, Gyumri has preserved the spirit of a 19th-century Armenian city. Built from the region’s iconic black tuff stone, its streets, balconies, and courtyards create a cityscape unlike anywhere else.

But Gyumri is not only about history.

Art Residency

Our residency invites artists, writers, musicians, and thinkers to create within the calm surroundings of Stepanavan and Gyumri — places where nature, history, and memory meet.

Here, creativity becomes more than production. It becomes a process of reflection and rediscovery.

We see art as a form of homecoming — a way to reconnect with one’s roots, bridge generations, and give new meaning to stories that already exist in these places.

Major’s House offers artists something increasingly rare: time, silence, and inspiration.

We are a true boutique house-hotel with a unique architecture and design.
